Jess - I heard about this little gem on Twitter and I kid you not, the minute I started reading I was sucked in. Set in 1866, a very unfortunate event brings a brave young woman - widowed, pregnant, and with a little boy by her side - and a struggling soldier together. The writing will captivate you and never let you go. I read this entire thing--all twenty-three (now, thirty+) chapters--into the wee hours of the morning and am dying for more Soldier, always dying (despite the fact she has consistently updated more than once a day). GO READ!!! Seriously! The writing style is unique, very stream of consciousness, and can take some getting used to, but
counselor packs SO much into very few words, balances humor with darkness, and will make you SWOOOOOON!
Corie - I resisted reading this at first but I gave in when I saw it rec’d in one of my fave historic fic authors a/n at the end of an update. I was blown away. There is a rawness in the characters that I love and the writing is beautiful. I can’t say enough about what a man this Edward is and how much I long for more characters like him. Like Jess I can’t get enough!
Harry Potter - Severus / Hermione
Chele - Hermione walks down the path to becoming a healer, and instead finds the way to put together the pieces of a beautiful, broken man. This fic is epic in both length and intensity. The level of thrall and underlying understanding between Hermione and Severus is a divine balance, and the level of heat in my pants from their attraction to eachother and Severus misanthropic sexiness in incendiary. Settle in for a long night when you crack the cover on this one. You won’t want to stop once you’ve started.
Merlin, Merlin/Arthur, OneShot
Posy - The men meet at a club and are in the middle of hook-up number 2 when Arthur finally asks the brunette what his name is. The random sex they start off having ends up being a lot less random and a lot more regular, until Arthur realizes that Merlin has a nice spot in his life.
Emmy - I’ve recc’d this before. But love this fic, and when I saw that Posy ^^^ recc’d this I had to reread. Yummy and flangsty. A fab follow up one shot is

Jeanne - This is hands down one of the best fanfics I have EVER read.
laufeyette doesn’t just write a little lost (porny) moment in canon, but rather does a beautiful character study of Agron. We are given insight into a complicated man, heartbroken over the loss of his brother and starstruck by the beautiful, willful and courageous slave body, Nasir. This is a slow burn that quickly erupts into one of the most emotionally resonant and intensely erotic loves scenes I have read in a long time. These are men of strength and violence, in a moment of intimacy and love so profound it may move you to tears. FUCK, I love these men. *swoons*

Jess - I adore this story and have since chapter one! The tension between Emmett and Jasper is off the charts as Emmett’s tries to figure out all his confusing feelings. And good grief can we just say unf to Peter/Jasper. I know Teal is dying!!!
Teal - I’ve had a special place in my heart for Jasper/Emmett for quite some time, thanks to Chele, and the first time they kissed...gah! But right now, Jasper is coming into his own as an adorkable young gay man, and his learning experiences with Peter are making my pants sooooo happy. I always love to see my boys together, even though I know it will be temporary in this fic =)
Jen - I’m so happy for gamer Jasper to get some action and I’m really hoping witnessing said action wakes Emmett up. In the meantime, like the girls said- Jasper + Peter = yum.
Transformers, Sunstreaker/Sideswipe
Chele - Heart-Wrenching, action packed epic Transformers fic of love, war, and mech-cest (it’s complicated, but lovely). The accidental sparking of Sunny and Side’s progeny stirs humans’ mass-paranoia of alien invasion. The Autobots closely examine the costs of love, and hope for the future during a seemingly never-ending war. Desperate times makes for intense love.

Emmy - Gah. I ADORE this fic!!! Its 45k long, which is longer than some Merlin fics. But its a SUPER quick read. Merlin goes off to Cambridge full of hope and happiness, and pride at getting into Oxbridge. Leaving his shitty comprehensive school and being the odd one
out behind... He quickly loves Uni life, and quickly loves his new friends, especially Queens College golden
balls boy Arthur. Who seems to be a raging homophobe. Ah. Will coming out ruin everything? Will coming out ruin it forever? Some intense fucking and playing around. Especially when severely in the closet Arthur is drunk late at night at Merlins … Unfffff. Serious tension, such as when Arthur sees Merlin with hot Rugger-Bugger Lee.... Fabbity fab fic!

Jeanne - Nasir is sixteen and he has been in love with his brother’s best friend, Agron for years. The object of his obsession has returned home from his first year in college, finally giving Nasir a chance to confess his feelings. The adorable, awkward hotness that follows will delight any lover of slash fic. You don’t have to watch Spartacus to enjoy the delightful little one shot.
Jen - Listen to Jeanne! I have not gotten to watch Spartacus yet, but this ficlet has me begging for more.

Jess - I could pretty much kiss Corie for passing on this story. Good grief I don’t even know where to begin - Bella, a nineteen year old college student out to lose her virginity, is shy and not, aggressive and not, and it’s completely endearing. Edward, a very sexy (as if he could be anything else, just the way we like him) male escort, is out to make sure Bella has a good time. In the process though, something much more intense and profound and freaking hot happens! I read all ten chapters in about an hour. This story will suck you and hold you in its clutches until you’re done and BEGGING for more!
Corie - GAH this story makes my toes curl. Seriously the passion and heat between these two is off the charts. The premise is interesting and the author is doing a beautiful job of showing us how possible it can be to fall in lust and love in one single night together.
Game of Thrones, AU, O/S, Sansa Stark/Gendry Waters
Jeanne - Well shit, this sold me on one of the most unlikely ships. I love how plausible this scenarios could be in canon and especially how the author handles the issues with Arya. Sansa’s innocence isn’t overstated and Gendry’s adorably hesitant. Together their fumbling first time is as charming as it is hot. These two have totally won my heart.
Corie - There is such a beauty in this of Sansa’s past mingling in to her night with her new husband. It lends to a such a true connection with her as a character and I love how light he felt in this one. Thanks for the great rec Jeanne!

Emmy - This story is at times angsty. Merthur, down on his luck and broke, has to take a job he really would rather not. Working for his ex-boyfriend of two years - Arthur. Although Arthur seems well over their break-up, Merlin really is not! So

spanglemaker9 has captivated me in a way that I’m still speechless over. What started out as a simple Abba contest entry turned into a five-chapter ficlet that tells a love story within a love story. It is one of the most beautifully written stories I’ve read in a long time. Plus... there’s hot library/carrel sex... I mean come on!
Corie - I am in the middle of reading this right now after Jess’s rec and I have to say I love the character voice and the tension. I might be listening to Abba right now lol.
Emmy - I always love everything that
spanglemaker9 writes, and this novella was no exception. As always she has breathed life into an Edward and Bella and made them all of her own. An intriguing story, mixed in with killer UST and smoulders.
Spartacus, AU, O/S, Spartacus/Ilithyia
Corie - So this week Jeanne popped my Spartacus fic cherry with some amazing Argon/Nasir fic. While we were talking she brought up this pairing of Spartacus and Ilithyia and I have to say the idea of it had me intrigued right away. I could see where the hate behind the relationship could lend to so much passion. I see so many possibilities for these two. This story was an entry in the 2nd annual Kink Meme and I feel it encompassed all of that hate and passion I was looking for. I loved the texture and feel of this story. I have to say if you enjoy the idea of this pairing this something to take a look at for sure!
Jeanne - You’ve got a good hate!fuck and no one does it quite like these two. This is the awesome of Kink Memes. Daring authors travel territory that is dark and treacherous, but also sexy as fucking hell. This is a totally believable missing moment. The connection between these two is palpable when you watch the show, and in this one shot we see a satisfying (wink) ending to a tease of a scene in canon. UNF!

Corie - I picked just the right time last week to start reading this one. One reason I love reading vamp stories is the carnal element they can bring to a plot and this story not only delivers that it exceeds any expectations I had. The raw want and drive between characters makes the most mundane tasks feel like sex. I can’t say enough about this story.

Jeanne - Nothing says love and devotion like letting your boyfriend fuck your face. Here we see the aggressive side Nasir. He may be small, but what he lacks in stature he more than makes up in courage and pure fucking balls. After all, he isn’t going to stand by and watch some new guy muscle in on his man. FUCK! I love this story. I love the passion and almost desperate edge to their sex. I love how Agron gives, and allows Nasir to take what he needs. I love that this is hard, raw and graphic, but that is what makes it so emotional too. That the depth of their love for each other is expressed in this viciousness, this brutal, but still somehow beautiful way.
Corie - I am a newbie to this fandom but I am blown away by the attention to detail that this story had in it. I love any jealousy fic it's one of my kinks and this delivers big time. Seeing this warrior that I can see in Nasir come out for the love of his man got me so good. There is a line about the texture of Agrons scruff on Nasir that did me. I love the dynamic here.
Chele - Intense, emotional, and wickedly hot. Nasir is not only jealous, but possessive in a base and desperate way.

Emmy - So yep, I’ve read lots of smut this week (i’ve not got time to put it all down in here, or room!). I feel down a bit of a WaterSports rabbit hole the other day it seems. This fic, like the one above is porny and watersports! But this one has a smidgen bit more of plot. Its deliciously dirty!
If you want an EVEN dirtier dirrty Watersports fic, (but angsty) then read Breaking the Seal and its sequel Flushed with Need. They are SOOOO good, but might squick folk out a bit... :)
