Once upon a time, in a magical land of pointy silverware, lived a family who sparkled like diamonds in the woods. A little fairy foresaw that love would blossom after the magnificent stone-skinned man rescued a fair damsel who had been cursed with tripping and attacks from vans enchanted with evil spells. Their adventures included encounters with monsters, the big bad wolf, the evil witch of Alaska, hidden castles in the tropics, strange potions given to the heroine in Styrofoam cups, and true love’s kiss that put her into a three day coma but led to happily ever after and a bizarre half breed baby.
Now Princess Wishimight (everwondering) and Princess Staceygirl (jackbauer) cordially invite thee to weave thine own tale of Happily Ever After in the ONCE UPON A TWILIGHT CONTEST. Thou mayest bring thine own fairies, wolves, princes, dragons, seven dwarfs, glass slippers, talking animals, candy houses, faraway kingdoms, spells, magic, and fair maidens to the land of Twilight. If thou art successful in thy quest, thou shalt be honored and esteemed and rewarded.
Stories MUST:
- have Edward & Bella as the main pairing. Other Twilight characters may be included, of course, but focus should be on E&B.
- have a fairy-tale esque quality/theme to them–maybe there’s a fairy godmother, evil stepmother, prince/princess, spell cast, curse to be lifted, enchanted forest, etc. These are suggestions only. Feel free to be creative!
- be a one-shot of at least 1,000 words (minus header/author's notes) and written in English.
Stories CAN:
- be any genre/type–angst, romance, suspense, humor, vampire/AU, human, in canon, out of character, etc.
- be set either in the present day or in a faraway kingdom a long time ago, or somewhere in between.
- be from any POV–Edward, Bella, alternating, third person.
- be any rating from squeaky clean to citrus filled
- be either a solo or a collaborative effort.
Stories CANNOT:
- exceed 15,000 words (header/author's notes not included in word count.)
- be part of a former or current story. This must be a brand new one-shot written for this contest.

- Entries will be accepted between August 1st - August 20, 2009, midnight PST.
- Post your entry on fanfiction and then PM this profile, wishimight, or staceygirl aka jackbauer with your submission title so we can add it to the contest community and favorites. You may post your story elsewhere as well (twilighted, livejournal, etc), but it must also be on FF.
- Authors may submit up to two separate entries.
- Voting will be conducted by a blind poll on this profile page and will open on August 22, 2009 at noon PST. Depending on the number of entries, multiple voting rounds may be necessary.
- Please PM/e-mail if you have any questions or need clarification on the rules.
- If you want to continue your one-shot beyond this contest, you must wait for voting to close before doing so, otherwise your entry will be disqualified.

The Summer of Smut Contest will feature well written, smutty fun-filled entries from the following categories:
- Slash
- Vamp Smut
- BDSM Smut
- Trio or Poly Smut
- B/E Smut
- Non-Canon Pairing Smut.
Entries will be accepted from June 24th until August 21st 2009.
Winners will be announced September 1st
One winner will be chosen in each category and will receive a custom made signature banner as well as an author interview on the new and exciting fanfic blog, Roaming in Edwardville.
Please consider grammar, character development, creativity, and of course, sexy times.

- All entries must fit into one of the above categories.
- All entries must be one-shots.
- All entries must include smut/lemons, and therefore must be rated M.

Premise of Contest:
Why is it that the main "A-list" Twi characters are often the only ones that get to enjoy smokin' hot times while the other characters have to sit back and watch? Often, they don't even get to watch! With the "Love for the Unloved" contest, we are putting an end to this cruel practice. Let's give those "B-list" characters some love and time in the spot light!
How are we defining "A" or "B" list characters?
"A-list" characters: Edward, Bella, Renesmee, Jacob, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Carlisle, & Esme.
"B-list" characters: Anyone not mentioned above, but obviously mentioned in the books. "B-list" characters can be as 'minor' as Ms. Cope to as well known as Victoria. For those looking for character ideas, feel free to visit these web sites: The Twilight Saga Wiki and The Twilight Lexicon.
Rules:
Your one-shot (o/s) story must feature a "B-lister" as your main character, and we encourage that character to have some luvin' with another "B-lister" (i.e. Jessica & Angela, Charlie & Ms. Cope). While the premise of the contest is to highlight "B-list" bench-warmers, you may write a story containing an "A-list character" so long as they are partnered with a "B-lister" (i.e. Sam & Bella). However, if you are partnering with an "A-list" character, your o/s must solely be written from the "B-lister's" point of view. No exceptions!
Submission entries can be human, vamp, alternative universe, crackfic, etc... However, they must abide by the following standards:
- Must be M rated and include a smut/lemon scene in which the "B-lister" is an active participant. (As people under 18 are not allowed to read M-rated fic, we will not accept submissions from those underage.)
- Must be a o/s that is a NEW story. Your story cannot be continued until the contest is over. In addition, your entry cannot be a side-shot or outtake from any on-going/completed fic. It has to be a stand alone/original piece.
- Your story's word count must be between 3000-7500 words. Please stay in this word limit range.
- There are no genre requirements; however, stories with themes of rape, incest, pedophilia, mutilation, torture, kidnapping, or forced submission will NOT be accepted. This includes physical/verbal/sexual abuse guised as smut. If it isn't consensual, we are absolutely not interested.
- Please consider spelling, grammar, and character development. Entries with too many grammatical/punctuation/spelling/sentence structure errors will not be accepted. Betas are beautiful people, get to know one. You can also check out Project Team Beta.
- Collaborations are acceptable.
- Maximum of 2 entries per person.
- All entries must be posted on Fanfiction.net. Once you have posted your story, submit the link via a private message to the "Love for the Unloved" profile for entrance into the contest.
New writers are encouraged to enter the contest. Please indicate if this is your first piece of fan fiction when submitting your story.

Submission Time Period:
The submission period for the "Love for the Unloved" contest runs from August 14 - September 27th, 9pm PST.
Judging:
All submissions will be validated by members of the judging panel to ensure they meet all contest rules. Stories which do not meet requirements will be disqualified.
There will be multiple winners of this contest:
- One story will win by popular vote via a public poll. Details on the public vote will be announced later and will depend on the total amount of entries for the contest.
- The panel of judges will also select winning stories. Categories include:
- Best Overall Story (encompasses the contest theme)
- Best Cherry Popper "Award for New Author" (new authors can still win in other categories)
- Most Luscious Lemon

Rules and Standards:
- Must be a One-Shot and cannot be made into a multi-chapter story until after the contest is complete.
- Must feature a “dark” Edward. EDWARD MUST BE A VAMPIRE.
- Must be Edward x Bella. Other characters are welcomed in the story however the main pairing has to be ExB.
- One-shot must contain a lemon.
- No rape or incest. At all.
- Minimum word count is set at 4K
- Maximum word count is set at 15K
- If you are not 18, you shouldn’t be reading or writing this stuff. If you are under 18 we will not accept your submission.
There is a limit of two submissions per author. (Collaborations are considered one entry for either author. For example: Author A and Author B write a collaboration together for the contest. Then Author A writes their own entry. Author A has used two allotted submissions. Author B is free to submit another entry however cannot be another collaboration with Author A.)
ONE SHOT MUST BE BETA’D. If you do not have a beta, contact Team Beta and they can assist you with finding one. You must state the name of your beta in the one shot details.
Collaborations are allowed.
There is no specifics on POV. 3rd person POV, EPOV, BPOV…whatever you want.

Dates
We will start accepting submissions September 15, 2009 PLEASE DO NOT PM US WITH ENTRIES BEFORE THIS DATE.
The contest will close October 10, 2009 at 11:59PM. (That's roughly a month from the start up date to write a one-shot and have it beta'd.)
Submitting
Once you write your one-shot, PM us and let us know which story you're entering. We will read the one-shot to determine if it meets all requirements and if it does it will archived into the C2. When the contest closes we will hold votes and the top ten from those rounds will move on to the next round where the judges will choose the top three winner.
All voting will closed to the public so that there are not biased votes.
Voting
- Voting will go on for two weeks. (Depending on volume of submissions)
- As of right now there will be two rounds for those who are writing more than one entry. (This can change depending on the volume of submissions as well)
- All rounds of voting will go on for at least a week.
- When the top ten are compiled we will determine who the final contestants are.
- Winners will be announced during the last week of October. We will announce a final date when it gets closer to the end date.
