Talk Nerdy to Me: Geek Girls

A periodic taste of geeky goodness from our resident GeekPerv©, Trin.

So, it’s no secret how much we love the geeky guys around here, but we thought it was time to slather some love all over the amazing Geek Girls out there too.

Title: Beta Readers and Bulletin Boards
Author: cereuleanblue
Chapters: 3
Words: 14,518
Reviews: 71
Summary: Entry for the AwkWard Contest. Bella/Edward. When Edward finally meets the beta reader for his Harry Potter fanfic, his life changes in nearly every way possible.

Trin - Oh how I love this story...and this Hermione/Harry Fanfic writing Bella! After having a very innocent online friendship as one anothers betas Bella finds herself in the same town as Edward, teaching in the very same school. When they “first” meet up for coffee Bella uses her burgundy and gold Gryffindor scarf to let Edward know who she is.

They quickly move their friendship from online to real life and of course their feelings for one another grow. When they finally act on their feelings, right as they are star a HP marathon the results are as hot and sweet as can be!

"When she guided him inside of her, Edward's heart stopped beating in his chest, and the world around him came to a grinding halt. He did dare to move for a moment, until he felt her body move beneath his own. Her hands roamed his back, and every point of contact between their two bodies was like a million fires. Edward burned but was not consumed. His body melted into hers from the heat they produced, and the two separate halves of themselves became one."

Emmy - This is such fucking fun! As a HarryPotter fangirl myself I LOVED reading about this ff-dwelling Edward and Bella (HP universe folks, keep your knickers on!). They meet online, get to meet in person and become firm friends. But can there ever be more? HP loving, nerdy chemist Bella’s perfect for geeky Edward. But will either of them ever see or do anything about it? Super fun and super cute!

Title: Smart Girl: The Rachel Black Autobiography
Author: addisonj
Chapters: 1
Words: 4,997
Reviews: 17
Summary: Rachel Black has one year left of college and a chance to leave La Push for good. This is her autobiography of the imprint year; the year her life changed forever. One-shot for Love for the Unloved contest.

Jeanne - Finally, a story about Rachel Black. If you know me you know that I love the Quileute characters and I have a particular soft spot for the Black family. In Smart Girl: The Rachel Black Autobiography we get an imprint story, but from the side of the imprintee. We also see what it is like from someone from the outside walking into the world of wolves and vampires. Rachel’s POV is crisp, smart and very real. Through her very practical narrative about her own strange journey into the Twilight universe we get a underlying current of sensuality, and the strong desire that she feels towards Paul.

This beautiful story is such a wonderful find and is a must read for any pack fan.

Emmy - I started this story, not really having a scooby as to what to expect from it. What I got was a gentle look at a smart woman trying to build a new life and identity for herself, and who found a whole other side of herself. Clever birds read books and study hard - yes! But they also love and lust.

PS: The author writes a fabbio GeekWard/NerdyBella O/S too. Read Smart Girl: The Rachel Black Autobiography first and then read The Instant Message Wooing of Bella Swan!

Trin - Jeanne suggested this story and I was intrigued from the very beginning. Reading how she navigated through coming to terms with her life as the "Smart Girl" shifting from college back to La Push was so beautiful. I think we get so caught up with how we think our lives are supposed to go and then sometimes love changes all that for us.

"Suspicions: The Tale of the Maybe Vampire" by IrishLoveForever

Link:
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5894242/1/Suspicions_The_Tale_of_the_Maybe_Vampire

Summary:
Geeky Bella has a theory. She suspects that popular Edward Cullen is not who he claims to be. Are her crazy speculations true or will she be left feeling foolish? Most importantly, how far is she willing to go to prove herself accurate? OOC

Notes:
This is the first and so far the only "geeky-Bella" fic I've ever read. It's a WIP, currently in its 15th Chapter. The very quirky and funny writing, and the inner musings of geeky-Bella (not to mention "the talk" she had with her dad, Charlie - THIS had my tummy aching from laughing) kinda makes-up for the lack of lemons so far, BUT it is rated "M" so I don't know if there will be in the future chapters.

This fic also had me still guessing IF Edward is *really* a vampire, or not.

It was last updated on 3-23-11.
